According to another article, production for the European market would move to Japan. I think this all coincides with the next generation of Civic, as the current generation is supposedly being produced until 2021.

As much as I hate to see stuff like this happen, I can’t help but see this as a benefit for North America.

Move regular hatchback production to Alliston, Ontario and move Type-R production to the Honda Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio alongside the NSX.

They’re already working on a ‘national emergency’ to ban all EU m arques from the US.

You know, like the VW Atlas and BMW X5.

Not going to happen. Why ? Because they're Morgans.

What's worse is that people who created that mess are going to mostly keep their positions, but innocent people will suffer unnecessarily.

The British started first. But we played our trump card and got ahead.

The EU and Japan signed a new trade deal, so they'll probably just bring them from there.

I still don’t understand the impetus for Brexit, not that I’ve really tried. Nothing that’s come as a result has been surprising at all.

Well, a campaign against British membership to the EU took place for about a decade. Former PM and admitted pig fucker , David Cameron stupidly trusted the British people to do the right thing and vote Remain, in a referendum that was supposed to put an end to the said Leave campaign. Needless to say that the British screwed everything up.

Yep, the BBC’s report said that Euro market production will mainly be moved to Japan. I could see the next Type R coming to the US from there as well. (The current gen Civic will supposedly  remain in production until around the time Swindon is set to close.)

Honda gave up on Europe in 2000 already.

Kinja'd!!!

They lost most of their market share since. They were quite big in the 80s and 90s. Beyond 2000? A drop in the ocean.

52% of the Uk vo ted to leave the EU. Unfortunitly there are about 6 different versions of “Leave”, such as “ How they want to leave?” , and “ what they want after leaving?” Some of these versions are incompatible with each other . So now they are in limbo as the prime minister is trying to push her plan.

Shes complaining “remianers” aren’t supporting, while at the same time extreme members of her party are furious she isn’t going hard enough.

the problem is they have set the “leave” date on March 29. If the current agreement isn’t ratified in the UK parliment, all trade from the EU will have to be inspected, and taxed entering the UK. As of now there is something like 8k trucks entering/exiting each day, that aren’t inspected. So if no deal is reached shit is going to be blocked up, supply lines severly hindered and the economy taking a massive hit.

They have become a niche manufacturer. In my native the Netherlands they sold fe wer cars than brands like Porsche, Alfa Romeo and Smart. In 2018. For every car Honda sells, Suzuki sells 8. Honda simply stopped offering cars people wanted, combined with inflated prices. So they became uncompetitive. The Civic I posted above is a prime example.

I the 80s in my country Honda had a market share around 2.5%, versus 0.3% now. They just gave up.

I get all that. But why did the country or its politicians feel like leaving the EU was in its best interest?

A) want to kick out the polish plumbers

B) something something “ better deal”

C) don’t want to send money to Brussels. Even though they get a lot back, and are now learning being out of the single market means they have to hire a bunch of civil serve to to fill roles.

Mostly though people were told they could have their cake and eat it too. The problem is when you start hashin g out all the paths have different pro/ con lists that directly contradict each other. The problem is compounded by having this ball start rolling and no prime minister wanting to stop it before the self imposed 2 year deadline.

Pretty much why we got a toddler in the White House. Racism and xenophobia. They wanted to stop the immigration into the UK but couldn’t because of the EU common immigration policies and the common labour policies applied to all EU states and citizens . So they wanted out. Chinky or polack are terms used by members of the UKIP and the BNP (the leading forces behind the Brexit ). Arrogance was another reason. Some British people, who still dream of empires and wave ruling, think they are better than new EU citizens from the Eastern states.

There also was the money card. They said they were contributing to the EU budget with more money that they managed to absorb back. However the benefits of having access to the EU single market were more than compensating for that difference. Not to mention that London was a magnet for European tourists. With a hard Brexit, Europeans may choose to go to more inviting places for vacation.

The first two parts of John Oliver’s coverage of the Brexit should help you make a better idea.
